湿式除尘器利用含尘气体冲击除尘器内壁或其他特殊构件上用某种方法造成的水膜，使粉尘被水膜捕获，气体得到净化，这类净化设备叫做水膜除尘器。包括冲击水膜、惰性（百叶）水膜和离心水膜除尘器等多种。含尘气体由简体下部顺切向引入，旋转上升，尘粒受离心力作用而被分离，抛向筒体内壁，被简体内壁流动的水膜层所吸附，随水流到底部锥体，经排尘口卸出。水膜层的形成是由布置在筒体的上部几个喷嘴、将水顺切向喷至器壁。这样，在简体内壁始终覆盖一层旋转向下流动的很薄水膜，达到提高除尘效果的目的。这种湿式除尘器结构简单，金属耗量小，耗水量小。其缺点是高度较大，布置困难，并且在实际运行中发现有带水现象。

湿式除尘概述

　　湿式除尘器是利用水或其它液体与含尘气体的作用去除粉尘的设备，尘粒与喷洒的水滴、水膜或湿润的器臂、器件相遇时，发生润湿、凝聚、扩散沉降等过程，因而从气体中分离出来，达到净化气体的目的。湿式除尘器以水为媒介物，因此它适用于非纤维性的、能受冷且与水不发生化学反应的含尘气体，不适用于除去黏性粉尘。湿式除尘器具有投资低，操作简单，占地面积小，能同时进行有害气体的净化、含尘气体的冷却和加湿等优点。特别适用于处理高温度高湿度和有爆炸性危险气体的净化，但由于采用了水为净化物，必须处理含泥污水，否则可能会带来了二次污染。
